Folks New Computer

Now I am now doing everything on my Shuttle NAS I reused the bits from my Windows XP PC to build my parents a new computer. They are probably not ready for Ubuntu Linux yet so I installed Windows XP Professional again.

The following hardware was installed:

    Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G Motherboard

  • AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Socket AM2

  • 3x512Gb DDR2 RAM

  • Maxtor 7200rpm 250Gb IDE Hard Drive

  • Pioneer DVR-110 DVD+RW drive

  • Super Flower 400W <23dBA Power Supply

  • USB Backup Drive. Maxtor 7200rpm 200Gb IDE Hard Drive

    Note there are no PCI or PCI-e cards in this setup at all! Everything is on the motherboard. This is the future. Unless you are building a high end gaming rig then motherboards have it all now.
