Changi Airport. Some decided to stay at the bar until it closed at 3am, then go for supper, before heading straight to the airport for the 7am flight.
Jakata airport. Booking late meant there were no direct flights, so we had a 3 hour stop over in Jakata airport before flying to Bali.
First impression of the hotel looks good. The Bali Dynasty. All in all a good hotel.
A nice big pool.
Poolside bar. Appears on the bill as room service!
Kimi on Kuta beach right behind the hotel. Check the surf out.
Me on Kuta beach.
Theresa and Jane getting the full works on the beach.
Danny, Douglas Sam and Alvin receiving full attention. Due to some rash currency conversion errors Douglas ended up blowing 1.4 Million Rupiah and being hounded by the beach sellers for the rest of the holiday.
The first night we went to a beach front restaurant at Jimbaran Bay. What looked like a result quickly turned to frustration as the service was unbelievably slow. We had to reorder the beers twice before they arrived. Jimmy even went and bought some corn from a local beach vendor which we ate before the meal finally arrived.
This restaurant turned out to be a massive disappointment. In addition to the appalling service the 2Kgs of Mussels looked more like 500g when they arrived. The 1Kg of prawns also looked suspiciously smaller when served. We got so fed up waiting for dessert we paid up and left. Well cheated. New Bendesa Jimbaran Bay Cafe one place to avoid.
Sailing to the boat in the dingy.
Kelana. Owned by Freddy who just happened to be in Bali at the time. Surprising how many people who drink at the bar have boats!
Freddy skippering the boat while the rest of us relax with a Bintang beer.
Passing a local fishing boat. We even saw Dolphins on the way. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera to hand.
Dave (who also happened to be in Bali at the same time) hiding his KFC. What would his personal trainer say? Note the flowery shorts. An indication of what was to come later...
Jimmy shinning up the rigging.
Alvin trying to coax a reluctant Douglas up the mast to jump into the sea.
Alvin in mid air.
Even better shot taken from the front by Dave.
Douglas adopts a slightly different style.
The Crew.
Later that night, some stunning views at the beach side restaurant bar Ku Da Ta.
Dave took the opportunity to swap clothes with his Swedish date, and spend the rest of the night dressed as a woman. A worrying trend!.
Kimi after we had finished surfing.
The waves on Kuta beach were very powerful.
Wiped out one too many times!
One last picture at the hotel.
